Our team of dedicated specialist lawyers enjoy a breadth of experience second to none. On a daily basis we represent people under investigation at the police station and provide Magistrates Court and Crown Court representation and advocacy services.
We are very rare amongst specialist motoring solicitors to be able to provide genuine specialist representation on a legally aided basis (subject to eligibility) and our low overheads mean you don’t have to pay Manchester rates whilst retaining some of the best talent in the business.

Ivan Dickinson – Principal of Kellocks Solicitors, Duty Solicitor
Ivan joined the Firm in August 2006, becoming a Partner in 2008 and he then acquired the firm and became sole principal in 2019.
Ivan is passionate about the work that he does. Obtaining a Law Degree with Honours from University of Central Lancashire and in 1998 achieving a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and subsequently being admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1999, he has now been a Solicitor for 27 years and working in Criminal Defence for 23 of those years. He has been a criminal duty solicitor since 2006.
Ivan is responsible for all aspects of criminal defence, from police station to court. Ivan is the designated Legal Aid Agency Crime Supervisor for Kellocks.
Ivan specialises in the provision of advocacy at the Magistrates Court where he enjoys a strong reputation. Ivan has a developed a strong local client base over the past 23 years.
Ivan has a passion for all things Bond & Liverpool FC.

Lesley Nicholson – Solicitor, Head of Crown Court Department
Having qualified as a solicitor in 2003, Lesley joined Kellocks in 2007. Lesley has been a criminal duty solicitor for both the Court and Police Station since 2005 and is a member of the duty solicitor rota for Preston police station alongside Preston Magistrates Court.
Throughout her career, Lesley has been responsible for all aspects of criminal defence for clients from initial representation at the police station, advocacy services at the Magistrates Court and currently specialising in serious crime in proceedings at the Crown Court.
Lesley deals with complex cases involving serious violence and organised crime, including murder, drugs supply and importation, firearms and cases of a sexual nature. She works diligently and proactively to secure the best results for her clients.
Lesley has always also had a very keen interest in the intricacies of the laws of evidence and the vast and ever-changing rules and procedures.
Lesley was also responsible for obtaining the Specialist Quality Mark for the firm in 2015 and again in 2019, 2021 and 2024.
She now heads the Crown Court department.

Adrianna Gallery – Manager & Solicitor Apprentice
Adrianna has been a valued member of Kellocks for over 18 years and plays a central role in the firm as Manager. She is responsible for billing and accounts, as well as overseeing the smooth day-to-day running of the firm. In addition, she manages the Police Station Department, supporting both clients and colleagues.
Alongside her management role, Adrianna is currently studying for her law degree as a Solicitor Apprentice at the University of Lancashire, combining academic learning with many years of practical experience.
Adrianna’s long-standing commitment, organisational skills, and dedication to professional development make her a valued member of the team and a trusted point of contact for clients and colleagues alike.

Becca Kay – Trainee Solicitor
Becca graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 2023 and a Master of Laws (LLM) in 2024. She joined Kellocks Solicitors as a paralegal before being awarded a training contract in January 2025.
She has gained significant experience in Crown Court matters and Police Station representation, assisting both clients and counsel in the preparation of complex cases. Her day-to-day work includes reviewing disclosure, drafting defence case statements, preparing instructions for experts, liaising with counsel, and ensuring that clients are fully supported throughout proceedings.
Becca has been awarded her Police Station Representative Accreditation by Cardiff University in 2025 and is committed to developing her advocacy and litigation skills as she progresses through her training contract.

Emma Roberts – Solicitor Apprentice
Emma graduated with First Class Honours in Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice from Liverpool John Moores University in 2024. With a strong foundation in the psychological and legal aspects of the criminal justice system, she brings a thoughtful and analytical approach to her legal training.
In October 2024, Emma joined Kellocks as an Administration Assistant, where she gained valuable insight into the day-to-day workings of a legal practice. Her dedication and passion for the law led her to begin her Solicitor Apprenticeship with the College of Legal Practice in 2025, combining hands-on experience with academic study as she works towards qualification as a solicitor.
Emma’s background in forensic psychology gives her a unique perspective on client care, case analysis, and justice-related matters. She is committed to delivering high-quality support and is excited to continue growing within the legal profession.
