Competitive Private Fees

We find that most clients prefer the certainty of an agreed fixed fee for work conducted on their behalf. This helps to create transparency and when we quote a fixed fee, there are no hidden costs, we will not charge you additional fees for travel, mileage, parking, train tickets etc.

We do tailor our quotations for particular work. Please call or email us for further details. We offer an initial free telephone consultation where legal fees can be discussed. There are people who we would advise to represent themselves, perhaps for low level matters where the sentence guidelines are clear.

A Guilty Plea and mitigation hearing at the Magistrates Court is likely to cost between £500.00 and £750.00 depending on where your case is heard and the type of work involved preparing your case. Where a client is a “totter and an “exceptional hardship” application is to be presented our fee would be between £600.00 and £900.00.

Where you instruct us to ask the court to find “special reasons” a hearing which is akin to a trial will attract a fee of between £1000.00 and £1,500.00.

Legal advice and assistance sought in relation to Single Justice Procedure Notices will cost £200.00.

Typical fees for a one-day trial at the Magistrates Court including trial preparation and the trial hearing would be in the region of £2000.00 subject to the conclusion of the case in a day.

For contested matters at the Crown Court, costs estimates are available on request

Our chargeable hourly rates can be provided on request.

Signing of documents

If you would like us to sign documentation, and in certain cases advise in respect of those documents, our standard fees are set out below. Please bring your ID, including a picture ID, such as a passport or driving licence.

• Swear fees – Solicitors have a statutory obligation to sign Affadavit and Statutory Declarations. We charge £20 for the appointment and £5 per document and £2 per exhibits

• Certified copies – For certifying photocopies of original documents we charge £5 per signature for existing clients, or if you are not an existing client of Kellocks, £30 an appointment and £5 per signature. Please bring the original document that you require us to certify. If we are required to complete supporting documentation relating to the certification there is an additional fee of £75 plus VAT (£90).
